Jessica Martinez, APRN is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner at CardioCare Heart and Vascular Center. Jessica received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Barry University in 2009. Jessica graduated as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and a member of Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society. She then worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami as an emergency room nurse for one year. She proceeded to be an open-heart nurse providing care in the cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for five years. She received the Surgical ICU Nurse of the Year award in 2015 for the excellent work she provided. As an emergency room and open-heart nurse, she developed attention to detail and critical thinking skills. She continued her education, graduating with a master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner at Barry University in 2015.
Her extensive medical experience includes internal medicine in a primary care environment and Harvard Medical School educational programs focusing on Health and Wellness.
Jessica will help members of CardioCare Wellness develop a sustainable nutrition plan, therapeutic lifestyle changes involving weight loss and exercise habits.
She believes in the important connection between food and generalized health. She also believes that preventative medicine is the key to a healthy and long life. After working as an open-heart nurse, Jessica has found her passion in helping patients reduce their risk factors of heart disease through Cardiovascular Wellness.
